He has role played as the charismatic actor – Amitabh Bachchan – in various media projects because of his uncanny resemblance to the legendary megastar. Since childhood, Shashikant Ji has been passionate about doing something that sets him apart from the crowd. This fuelled his extrovert and outgoing nature to participate in college gatherings as an anchor. Following this creative spark, he exuberantly strove forward to include singing performances in orchestra shows in his niche. This was followed by diverse mimicry performances in which he exhibited another one of his brilliant skills of mimicking the best actors. His first show was in front of a live audience in Nashik on 14 April 1992 and the rest is history. He has completed more than a thousand orchestra events that range between anchoring, singing, and mimicry.
Shashikant Gopal Pedwal was born in Lasalgaon, Nashik. He completed his schooling at JR City High School in Dhule, where he also graduated in commerce from M.D Palesha Commerce College.
Shashikant Ji’s career gained a head start when he was featured in a television advertisement for POLIO (‘DO BOOND ZINDAGI KE LIYE’) while he was posted in Nandurbar ITI as Amitabh ji. It was all part of the Divine plan for him to venture into the field of an artist because he received immense love and appreciation positive from the audience which boosted his confidence. In Khandesh Festival, Jalgaon, he depicted the role of Hon. Amitabh Ji on stage for the very first time in front of a staggering audience of 25000. Ever since, Shashikant Ji has been sincerely performing at special events across India, and all over the world. Because of his popularity in social work and acting stints in movies, he has gained some well-deserved recognition on TV and has appeared on more than 30 channels featuring in interviews, reality shows, and award functions. He is proud to be a dubbing artist for Amitabh Sir’s movie Main Hu Ganga, (directed by Deepak Sawant) and has even recently bagged some long shots in the movie, Jhund (directed by Nagraj Manjule).
